Program Description

The BA (Hons) Musical Theatre course will give you the opportunity to specialise in musical theatre whilst developing practical skills in dance, drama and music. You will have practical modules at all levels of the course to enable you to develop your performance skills. The BA (Hons) Musical Theatre also offers the opportunity to develop a broad range of associated skills including, for example, technical theatre, theatre design, teaching, thus increasing your employability and your understanding of collaborative and professional practices in context. The course develops academic and practical skills in musical theatre, and looks at historical and contemporary practice. Led by a team of internationally-published academics, you will have the opportunity to critically engage with the history and development of musical theatre practice. In addition, working with our professional regional, national and international networks allow you to expand your knowledge of the musical theatre industry and embed this into your own practice. You will have numerous opportunities at every level to perform in theatres and other professional locations.
