Program Description

Sharpen one's skills and techniques as a stylist under the guidance of industry veteran instructors and learn the ins-and-outs of the workplace—customer service, client booking, effective product sales—in the full-service salon learning environment. Women and men’s haircuts, barbering, colour and chemical texture services—these are the skills employers demand of our Hairstyling graduates and they are the ones a student will explore in detail in this program. Apprenticeship Manitoba Level 1 accreditation means students who successfully complete the program and accreditation requirements receive credit toward their apprenticeship path. And participation in MITT’s Work Skills Series workshops ensures they enter the workforce with a strong foundation in the employability and essential skills employers demand. Who it is for: Individuals who are passionate about the latest trends in hairstyling, enjoy hands-on work, and thrive on one-on-one interaction with a client to help them achieve—and properly maintain—their desired look.
