Program Description
The Bachelor of Arts - Women's and Gender Studies program is a 3-4 year degree program that explores a wide range of women-centerd social, political and cultural issues. As a dynamic and interdisciplinary program, students study diverse theoretical and practical approaches, including popular culture and consumption, violence against women, lesbian/gay/queer studies, women in science and technology, human geography, indigenous feminisms, masculinity studies, and history. Some notable courses that students are able to take include the following: Race, Class, and Sexuality,Women, Science, and Technology,Native Women and The Arts,Sex Work in Contemporary Canadian Culture,Sex, Gender, Space and Place,Soap Operas, Harlequins, and Talk Shows ,Masculinities.
