Program Description

At Sussex, your lecturers work at the forefront of physics. They’re developing next-generation quantum computing devices, and searching for new fundamental particles using the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. This means that you’ll study modules based on the latest cutting-edge research – from quantum gravity to the large-scale structure of the universe. In your final-year project and research placement opportunities, you’ll work alongside our faculty on groundbreaking discoveries. You’ll have access to state-of-the-art equipment, including a rooftop optical, radio, and muon telescope. You’ll be part of a close community – our lively Physics Society arranges regular social events. Our building is a real hub of activity. You’ll have all your practical sessions in our modern teaching laboratories. Outside the classroom, you can study or catch up with your friends in our popular student spaces.
