Program Description

Are you involved in work with migrants, refugees and asylum seekers? Or are you contemplating entering this field? This course will broaden your understanding of the relevant theories, concepts and policies. Explore issues of governance, rights and diversity that shape migrants’ life chances. You'll examine migration processes and their consequences for today’s societies. Teaching is interdisciplinary, drawing insights from sociology, human geography, anthropology, development studies, politics, law, psychology, education, economics and demography. You will have the opportunity to pursue your interests. You can explore topics including: transnationalism, migration and development governance and human rights refugees, citizenship, integration and cultural diversity.
