Program Description

Providing outstanding care for people with a range of mental health conditions is a challenging but greatly rewarding career. Accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), our Mental Health Nursing degree course will give you the blend of practical experience with essential knowledge and skills to help meet high demand for workers in the fields of nursing and mental health. Led by expert clinical practitioners, you will gain a deep understanding of areas including human development and managing medicine safely, as well as the technical and personal skills required for delivering high-quality compassionate care for patients in a wide range of environments. On successful completion of our mental health nursing course, you will be able to apply for Registered Nurse (Mental Health) status with the NMC. To support your mental health nurse training, you will gain vital practical experience on industry placements in a range of settings, thanks to our excellent links with the healthcare sector. You will also be able to develop your hands-on practical skills during your studies through a variety of learning experiences in our state-of-the-art simulation facilities on campus, including a simulated clinical environment and virtual reality technology.
