Program Description

When you embark on our LLB (Hons) Law programme, you’ll cover all the core elements of a qualifying law degree, with the opportunity to delve into these core subjects in greater depth. Our curriculum offers ample opportunities to engage with practical legal issues, and spans the relationship between law, modern life and the economy as well as cross-border issues. You’ll study: the UK’s ‘unwritten’ constitution, and how the legal system acts to safeguard the rule of law the principles and theory of contract law: how contracts are formed, enforced and discharged the principles that underpin criminalisation, and the justifications for and criticisms of criminal law doctrine the doctrines and concepts that underpin equity, and the law of trusts in England and Wales the doctrines and concepts that underpin equity, and the law of trusts in England and Wales how tort law determines liability for harm, its roots in common law and its dependence on the facts and context of a case foundations of EU law, including its sources, institutions, and its relationship with the English legal system the core principles of land law in England and Wales, including ownership, estates and interests, and the interaction between legal and equitable rights
