Program Description

This exciting degree explores the most topical and significant contemporary issues, including the workings of power across society; the mechanisms that shape inequalities; national and international perspectives on children’s lives; the distribution of public and private goods; human rights; and individual and collective responsibility in a global world. The course gives you an initial foundation in key areas of sociology, education and contemporary childhood experience across different settings – family, community and educational. It also includes opportunities to study children’s lives from international perspectives, particularly in relation to children’s rights and schooling.
