Program Description

This program provides you with the skills and knowledge to work with children and youth experiencing behavioural and emotional difficulties. You will learn how to intervene and assess situations and formulate strategies to help children, youth, and their families identify and resolve concerns and enhance their quality of life. The program covers the dynamics of human development within a multicultural perspective. Courses include child and adolescent development, special issues affecting child and youth care, and care for children who have emotional or behavioural difficulties. This program includes training in relationship development, group process, and family dynamics. It also includes skill-oriented family support and intervention courses, child and youth care methods, listening skills, and activities programming.
