Program Description

As a UD Intervention Specialist major, you will learn skills necessary to teach students with mild to intensive disabilities through coursework in development and content, clinical experiences and community engagement opportunities. You will gain an understanding of students at various ages and stages of development, and from various cultures, socioeconomic levels, ethnic groups and ranges of abilities. You will have the opportunity to supplement your teaching license with additional credentials in preschool special needs, urban education, Catholic education, the education of speakers of other languages or specific certification in supporting students with Dyslexia. A STEM lab and Curriculum Materials Center are among the numerous resources available to you.
