Program Description

Responding to increased demand for live, in-the-moment video production and streaming, Fanshawe’s Advanced Live Digital Media Production program provides students with the knowledge and skills to work in a variety of roles in media production. All phases of live and recorded video production will be taught throughout this Fanshawe College program, including pre-production, production, post-production, delivery, and repurposing. You’ll learn and put into practice the full live production process, from planning and writing to live delivery of programming. Become familiar with advanced field production and current technology such as advanced networking and interconnectivity of production and streaming technologies. You’ll also learn about entrepreneurship and business opportunities as independent production companies. Apply what you learn and expand your portfolio and network through either an internship or a multidisciplinary project involving live video production. You’ll produce a variety of live creative content, such as live news, mobile and location video in athletics, music videos, and eSports programming. Students will also coordinate the live delivery of event programming to our local cable partner, Rogers TV, and gain experience with Image Magnification (IMAG) production of conference or concert events. Graduate with the skills and experience to work as a producer, director, technician or choreographer overseeing and controlling the technical and artistic aspects of film, television, video game, radio, dance and theatre productions. Graduates are also qualified for jobs as broadcast technicians, configuring and operating production equipment to distribute live and television and events to produce audio and video distribute broadcasts for the Internet. These roles could be found in a production company, radio or television station, video game companies, broadcast departments, advertising companies, sound recording studios and record production companies.
