Program Description
This course places a strong emphasis on creativity, collaboration, design and innovation, and developing students’ practical skills to a high standard. Students are also encouraged to develop the theoretical skills necessary to critically analyse key media issues, both in terms of its technological manifestation and its social impact. In Year 3 students work on a major interactive media group project. There is also a six-week work placement, allowing students to gain experience in the workplace before completing their final year on the course. In Year 4 students focus on their chosen speciality area to create a substantial body of work preparing them for a professional career in this field. Students also carry out a large piece of research which culminates in a dissertation. Students are also offered the opportunity to showcase their creative ideas and skills to the public and prospective employers with their final-year project exhibited at the annual end-of-year Creative Media Degree Show, Fís Graduate Showcase.
