Program Description

Claim your place in reclaiming disturbed lands and minimizing industry’s effects on natural habitats. Be work-force ready with our conservation and reclamation major. You’ll learn how to classify, manage and conserve soils. You'll recognize and understand a variety of ecosystems. Ultimately you can lead practical and specialized revegetation and reclamation projects on disturbed lands. Learn how to do detailed site assessments. Apply reclamation regulations, guidelines and techniques to particular landscapes and disturbed lands. You’ll develop those, and other, skills in hands-on field labs. You’ll learn more than 20 applied skills industry wants. On field trips to forested, mined, cultivated and native lands, you’ll see current industry practices and technologies as well as see reclaimed areas. You’ll also meet and connect with government and industry.
