Program Description
The Master of Arts in Tourism and Heritage Management (Structured) is designed to provide graduates with a set of critical and highly employable skills within the area of tourism and heritage management at both a theoretical and practical level. It will improve their personal and professional skills to enable their professional development within both the indigenous and international tourism and heritage management domain while further developing their research experience and capability. Participants will take several key mandatory modules such as Research Methods, Business Strategy, Critical Theories in Tourism and Heritage Management, Destination Management and Marketing: roles and responsibilities; and People and Leadership, and then specialise with a stream-specific module in either Heritage or Tourism, in terms of a consultancy-based project. Students will then build on their expertise in this field by completing a substantial research project in their chosen area of specialism. This is a structured Masters programme, meaning there is a focus on research throughout with the research project totalling 60 credits of the 90 credits available.
