Program Description
Broaden your worldview by learning the languages and exploring the cultures of French, Spanish, Italian, and Latin. Romance Languages fosters global citizenship through the study of literature and media, while developing skills in oral communication, grammar, and composition. Our program offers a major in Romance Languages as well as the option to complete a minor, major, double major, or honours in French and Spanish and Latin American Studies. Students are also able to complete a certificate in French Language Proficiency and the Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE). For those interested in Italian and Latin, introductory and intermediate-level courses are offered. “Languages are about the world around us. Full-time undergraduate and post-graduate international students can work anywhere on or off campus without a work permit. The rules around the number of hours a student will be allowed to work may vary based on the country the student chooses to study in. International students are typically able to work up to 20 hours a week.
