Program Description
Canada is a bilingual country and French is spoken all around the world. Immerse yourself in French, French Canadian, and Francophone literatures and cultures. From the specialization in Quebec Studies to the single-major Honours program, Trent provides a complete selection of French Studies degrees at the undergraduate level. Our program offers opportunities for all levels of learners; whether you are at a beginner level, or coming from Core French or Immersion, you will be placed in the class that is right for you. As you progress, you will explore great works of literature in their original language, and learn about the arts and cultures of the Francophonie. Career opportunities abound for graduates of French Studies.

Study and Work in Canada
Full-time undergraduate and post-graduate international students can work anywhere on or off campus without a work permit. The rules around the number of hours a student will be allowed to work may vary based on the country the student chooses to study in. International students are typically able to work up to 20 hours a week.
