Program Description
Almost every technology in modern life relies on electrical engineering in some way. Electrical engineering deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism in all of their forms. Electrical engineers study and apply the physics and mathematics of electricity, electromagnetism, and electronics to both large- and small-scale systems to process information and transmit energy. Electrical engineers work on a wide range of components, devices, and systems, from tiny microchips to huge power station generators. Electrical engineering students engage in hands-on, team-driven design solutions to complex real-world electrical and electronics-oriented problems. Our program offers students the opportunity to work in state-of-the-art labs with peers and faculty on cutting-edge research and project development. The program is also blended with a core electronic engineering foundation and with a strong background in mathematics and sciences. This program is offered by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. From designing multi-functional robots to prototyping a spacecraft, control systems engineers play a critical role in technological innovation with a systems engineering degree. Topics covered within this concentration include high-fidelity signal acquisition, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and control system design.
